Hansa Medical is a biotechnology research and development company focused on treatment and diagnosis of inflammatory diseases and conditions. 

At present, Hansa Medical runs two preclinical biopharmaceutical programs: anti-alpha-11 for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and IdeS for treatment in connection with organ transplantation. Also, the company develops a clinical-stage diagnostic method, HMD-301, for the prognosis and diagnosis of severe sepsis.

Product development at Hansa Medical is based on two separate research fields: the molecular interplay between pathogenic bacteria and the immune system as well as the membrane protein alpha-11 present on synovial fibroblasts.
